An application called Tably allows you to better understand your cat and to detect health problems. In particular, the possible depression of your feline.

Behavioral changes in pets, especially cats, can be alarming at times. Overnight, they seem less active or distance themselves from us… Is it a passing fad? Does he show his displeasure? Canadian company Sylvester.ai has developed an application, Tably, which would provide a better understanding of felines. Using it is simple: just take a picture of your cat, as you do 24/7 in your free time. Thanks to facial recognition, the tool will decrypt your cat’s facial expressions. The narrowing of her eyes, the tension of her muzzle, the placement of her little tomcat ears… Everything is combed through.

This is following the publication of a study published in 2019 in Scientific Reports and Nature that the Tably application has been developed. Chris O’Brien, behaviorist and co-author of this research, spoke to Wired on this subject. “The real challenge with cats is that they don’t express their pain. They will do anything to hide, while the dogs will squeal to their owners and put them on the track.” The beta version of Tably, not yet available in France, could be used by those who have a feline, but also by veterinarians. This study recalls the importance that must be given to the behavior of cats and the usefulness, in case of doubt, to consult a veterinarian.
