Isabelle Mergault: “she bears my name but…”, the underside of the adoption like no other of her daughter Maya

Passing through the set of the show C à vous on Thursday June 1, 2023 on France 5, actress Isabelle Mergault confided in the subject of the adoption of her daughter Maya, who still regularly sees her biological parents.

After presenting C à vous for the first time live from the Croisette, throughout the 76th Cannes Film Festival, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine returned to the Parisian studio of her show earlier this week. Thursday June 1, 2023, viewers of France 5 were once again able to find the host at the controls of a new number of his talk show. For the occasion, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine was still surrounded by her various columnists: Patrick Cohen, Pierre Lescure, Mathieu Belliard, Mohamed Bouhafsi, Emilie Tran Nguyen and Bertrand Chameroy.

As usual, the presenter of C à vous received several guests on her set that day. Among these, we can notably mention two famous actresses: Josiane Balasko and Isabelle Mergault. The latter, who is also one of the members of Laurent Ruquier in the program Les Grosses Têtes on RTL, was questioned about the adoption of his daughter Maya. “Isabelle, you too took this path of adoption in 2012, but under very different conditions, since your daughter Maya still regularly sees her biological mother.“, first of all underlined Pierre Lescure.

Isabelle Mergault on her daughter: “Maya can still see her mom and dad, but I am in charge of her education”

Yes, I met her mother one day and I fell in love with the little one who was not even a year old. I started keeping her and I remained friends with the mother. She went to Niger, then she came back to France. She was very busy. I told him : ‘If you want, I keep her at home, but you have to do things in order’. So it’s a simple adoption. Maya can still see her mom and dad, but I am in charge of her education“, explained Isabelle Mergault. “This is not a full adoption“, then clarified Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine. “No, she is not stripped of her rights. I just wanted her to have a good education. (…) I have completely changed my life since adopting my daughter, she believes that I am omnipotent, that I am strong, so I am strong and omnipotent because she thinks that I am!“, added Isabelle Mergault.
