Isonzo: release on September 13 for the alpine FPS

We really need the freshness of the alpine peaks these days, but it is therefore in three months that the next FPS from Blackmill Games will be available to make us experience this specific side of the First World War. Here, the sumptuous valleys and mountains of Italy will witness battles from another time that smell of mustard gas, as soldiers weave through sandbags and barbed wire to swoop down on hillside fortresses or mountain trenches, when they will not fight in the lanes of the villages.

As with its previous titles, the studio puts attention to detail and authenticity first. “Everything has been reproduced using research and field studies on the sound effects, uniforms, houses, vineyards or trenches that will mark your battles“, we are told.

Banking all on its multiplayer battles at the expense of single-player content, the game offers a choice of six classes based on historical roles. Engineers will, for example, be invaluable for cutting the barbed wire, while the essential snipers will be the first to take advantage of the landscape. Unable to count on the “National Socialist German Workers’ Party” to play the bad guys, those who do not embody the proud soldiers of the Kingdom of Italy will don the outfit of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
