Three weeks after the Hamas attack in Israel, the response continues. The Gaza Strip has been bombed since Friday evening and the Jewish state is said to have destroyed 150 underground targets. An offensive which nevertheless divides the Israelis, who are worried about the fate of the hostages.

The Gaza Strip woke up to bombs this Saturday morning, three weeks after the attack by Hamas terrorists in Israel. Strikes on a scale not seen since October 7. 150 underground targets were hit, announced the Jewish state, whose priority is now to destroy this network of tunnels in which the terrorists are hiding. But this offensive divides the Israelis. Many found themselves, as soon as the attack was announced, in front of the Ministry of Defense and government offices, where anger now mixes with great concern.

“We have already lost the war”

The Israelis, united, are firstly worried about the lives of the 229 Israeli and foreign hostages in the hands of Hamas. Some, like Isaac, believe that this offensive is necessary anyway. “We have to do it, I don’t see any other option. We’re dealing with murderers, you never know what they can do. You have to be proactive,” he admits.

His neighbor does not agree. He believes that this war is unnecessary. He especially attacks Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister, whom he accuses of having dragged the country and the region into chaos. 66% of Israelis demand his resignation. “We have already lost the war. We lost it on October 7, when these barbarians condemned children. It’s all a question of revenge. It’s just stupid,” he regrets.

The families of the hostages are absolutely petrified by the images of these strikes on Gaza. They will stay here demonstrating to demand an end to the fighting and the opening of negotiations to free the hostages.
