The greatest success in MCU history, the apotheosis of the Infinity Saga released in 2019, Avengers: Endgame (broadcast tonight on TF1) has particularly spoiled Marvel fans by offering them countless moments of bravery.

Among all these epic sequences, we remember in particular an exclusively female offensive, bringing together all the heroines of the film against the forces of Thanos, during the final battle. Gamora, Okoye, Scarlet Witch, Mantis, Valkyrie, and of course Captain Marvel…

A scene which particularly marked the filmmaker Nia DaCosta (future director of The Marvels), but which the latter also describes as frustrating, because much too brief for her taste:

“Like many women around the world, I watched Avengers: Endgame, and there were those 6 seconds where all the women of Marvel come together”she recently confided to the microphone of Entertainment Weekly.

“It gave me chills, but at the same time, it also pissed me off a lot. I was like, ‘Give us two hours like this, please.’ So it’s really good that they decided to do a team movie with three of my favorite heroines.”

It is therefore under the leadership of Nia DaCosta herself that Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson in Captain Marvel), Kamala Kahn (played by Iman Vellani in Miss Marvel) and Monica Rambeau (seen in the WandaVision series as Teyonah Parris) will team up in July 2023, in The Marvels.
