“It remains a Grail”: this personality that Laurent Ruquier dreams of interviewing: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

After 23 years of good and loyal service, Laurent Ruquier left France Televisions to join BFMTV. Since September 25, 2023, he officiates in Ruquier’s 8 p.m. next to Julie Hammett. During an interview at TV Magazine on October 17, 2023 on his debut on the news channel, the 60-year-old presenter said he was delighted: “It’s going well. I’m learning, it’s a new challenge, it’s exciting. I wanted renewal, well I have it!” Among his guests, Laurent Ruquier notably received his companion influencer Hugo Manos as part of a debate on the conflict between Booba and Magali Berdah. A sequence which was able to make viewers smile, who knew the nature of the relationship between the two men. “It was a wink, it was fun, said the host. I greeted him on set, I find it normal. Out of respect for the viewers.”

“I could never [l’]to interview”

Laurent Ruquier, however, dreams of seeing other personalities appear on his TV set. “Of course, we dream of having important politicians”he conceded in the columns of TV Magazine. But there is also a personality from French culture that the host wishes to be able to question. Catherine Deneuvehe reveals. “He is one of the rare personalities that I love and whom I have never been able to interview. It remains a Holy Grail.” For her part, not sure that Catherine Deneuve is as excited by this prospect. In September 2023, she confided in the columns of Paris Match that she had a “poor” opinion of journalists. A mutual disenchantment since Darius Rochebin, a Swiss journalist who now works on LCI, confided that during an interview, she had been “infectious from start to finish”. Not enough to dissuade the fan of the one who currently plays Bernadette Chirac on the big screen.
