It is becoming clearer for the launch of Xiaomi’s first clamshell smartphone. According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, it will however be necessary to show a little patience, since the latter should not arrive before at least next year. It would be launched alongside the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4.
Doubt is (almost) no longer allowed: Xiaomi is working on a flip smartphone, like the Galaxy Z Flip. The device was first talked about in 2020, when a patent had just surfaced on the web. Things have visibly accelerated in 2023, as just last week leaker Digital Chat Station claimed that development is coming to an end.
The latter apparently still had some under his sleeve, since he returned to the charge today. According to him, this Xiaomi MIX Flip as we might call it will not arrive until next year. Also, we should not expect a launch alongside the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, which should be released in the coming months, but rather a simultaneous launch with the MIX Fold 4.

Also according to Digital Chat Station, the two smartphones will then be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen processor. Knowing that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 should be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, we can logically expect that its successor will benefit from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. For its part, the MIX Flip should be content with a less powerful version, as tradition dictates.

Whether it’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, or a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, is yet to be determined. Just as much, moreover, as its international availability. Indeed, nothing says at the moment that the flip smartphone will indeed be sold in France. It is still much too early to make plans on the comet on this subject, especially since the MIX Fold 2 has never been entitled to marketing outside of China.
