Jackdaw dies – pensioner (77) shot birds with a rifle

Apparently he wanted to chase away pigeons. A 77-year-old shot a jackdaw with an air rifle in Aurolzmünster. During the rescue attempt, the seriously injured bird fell into a chimney. The fire brigade recovered it with the help of a suction hose. The shooting-happy senior is shown as a cruel animal

The pensioner shot the jackdaw with an air rifle at around 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The injured bird fell on the roof of a neighboring house. Before the fire brigade arrived, the jackdaw climbed to the ridge of the roof, fell into a chimney and remained on the ground at a depth of seven meters. Nothing went from the side, and the chimney pipe was only about 16 centimeters in diameter.

Therefore, the Florianijünger decided to get the bird out with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. The bird was sucked in with the end of the hose and pulled upwards. Unfortunately, the jackdaw could only be released from its suffering. The “Ballermann” is reported for cruelty to animals.

Police officer as an animal rights activist
Thomas Burger (42) from the Steyregg police station, on the other hand, behaves in an exemplary animal-friendly manner. The officer, who is also a hunter, rescued a grass snake, a hawk, a swan and a buzzard within a month – a kind of “Francis of Assisi” in uniform.
