There is still no information about the latest film in the “James Bond 007” film series. Fans have been waiting since “No Time To Die” to find out who will succeed Daniel Craig as secret agent with a license to kill, but so far there has been silence. However, a trend in the Bond film series suggests that the new Bond will be significantly funnier than Daniel Craig.
So far, with every new Bond actor there has been a break in style and a very unique style, so that comparisons with previous actors are difficult to make. Each Bond star has brought their own unique flavor to the franchise, and it would be unusual for Bond 26 to behave differently.
Looking at Bond history, this trend is very clear. Connery embodied a charming, tough and confident Bond. His films were not necessarily family-friendly, especially at the beginning. This was changed by Roger Moore, who brought about a huge change with his witty and almost parodic manner.
Timothy Dalton then returned to the tougher, grittier ways of the agent on Her Majesty’s Secret Service and provided what is arguably the most book-perfect portrayal of the character. With Brosnan there was another break in style and Pierce Brosnan turned Bond into a nonchalant action hero, who also always balanced on the border of ridiculousness with his humorous manner.
With Daniel Craig, the humor has finally been scaled back almost completely and Craig combines the rough hardness of Timothy Dalton’s Bond with the nonchalance of Sean Connery. As the trend wants it, it should now be the turn of a humorous action hero again.
