James McAvoy has confirmed his marriage to Lisa Liberati in an interview. The secret marriage had been speculated for a long time.
“X-Men” star James McAvoy (42) and Lisa Liberati (40) are married! After speculation about a secret wedding in 2019, the actor has now confirmed the wedding in an interview with the British newspaper “The Guardian”. The two have been a couple for a few years and “recently” married. Philadelphia, the home of his new wife, now feels “like a second home” to the Scot.
The two met there in 2016 on the set of the psychological thriller “Split” by director M. Night Shyamalan (51). McAvoy starred in the film, and Liberati was on set as Shyamalan’s personal assistant. McAvoy had recently separated from his wife Anne-Marie Duff (51), with whom he has a son.

McAvoy told The Guardian that he would not comment further on his relationship with Lisa Liberati. He wanted to avoid “feeding the gossip press”. The actor rarely gives insights into his private life on Instagram either, most recently on Halloween 2019 a photo with Lisa Liberati on his account. In November 2021, they showed up together at the Fashion Awards in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
