Prime Minister under the first presidency of Emmanuel Macron, John Castex will have left the impression of a man devoted to the State and modest. On May 16, 2022, he returned his apron as head of government passing it to Elisabeth Borne, being able to find a more normal rhythm, especially with his family. Married and father of four daughters, he has rarely revealed his relatives in front of the cameras. A small departure from his rule took place during the documentary Last days in Matignon broadcast on France 2 on June 30, during which we can see his wife and ally, Sandra Ribelaygue.
In the extract from the film broadcast on France 2, Jean Castex insists on the fact that he was able to settle in Matignon with his family and two of their daughters, Eugénie and Léa. A detail that is important:If my wife hadn’t agreed to come and live in Matignon, I wouldn’t be Prime Minister.“The presence of the women in his life not far from him was essential for his balance and this contributed to his”professional or political performance“. He adds : “It was very precious, you see, between two appointments, presto! I slip away and go see them, if only for two minutes.“
In the past, Jean Castex had posed on the cover of the magazine Paris Match to reveal his privacy in December 2020. However, they have never appeared together at social events, apart from a visit to Pope Francis in October 2021, preserving their privacy and that of their daughters.
