Jean Dujardin: this great world event of which he will ensure the opening ceremony: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

It is a real rise that meets the actor Jean-Dujardin. From the small screen, where he played alongside Alexandra Lamy in A boy a girl, he is now showing very great films. No register frightens him: Jean Dujardin plays the comedy to perfection in OSS 117 and knows how to move in more committed roles like On the dark paths. Oscar winner for his role in The Artist, he will play a new role on Friday September 8, 2023. Far from the cinema, he will be responsible for hosting the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup. The announcement was made official by the organizers of the World Cup on Saturday July 8, 2023 in a press release, including BFM TV echoes. They specified why Jean Dujardin had been selected. Since the event takes place in France, it is important to put the country in the spotlight.

World Cup organizers want to “celebrate France”

The kickoff of the event will be formalized by the match of France against New Zealand in Saint-Denis at 9:15 p.m. But a little over an hour before, Jean Dujardin will perform on stage alongside several celebrities. For this opening ceremony, the actor co-wrote a show with designer Olivier Ferracci and director Nora Matthey from l’Endroit. Nathalie Péchalat’s husband will be joined by actor Philippe Lachaud, chef Guy Savoy and prima ballerina Alice Renavand. In the press release, the organizers of the world specifies that this small staging aims to “celebrate France and its culture in a live theatrical performance”. To do so, French know-how and art of living will be highlighted. A small nod to the history of rugby in France will surface to commemorate the bicentenary of this sport, the foundations of which were built in 1823 by William Webb Ellis. The presence of Jean Dujardin, Alice Renavaud and Guy Savoy during this world championship was to be expected. Indeed, these three French personalities drew lots for the World Cup pools on December 14, 2020.
