If this series adapted from Liane Moriarty’s book has been so successful, it is certainly thanks to its casting – with in particular Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep – but also in large part thanks to the incredible achievement of Jean-Marc Vallée. A poignant achievement that can be found in another of the most impactful series, Sharp Objects, which features the excellent Amy Adams.
