Jenny Elvers: After an alcohol relapse, she seeks help in a familiar routine

Jenny Elvers is actually considered dry and had her alcohol addiction under control. However, the actress recently relapsed. Now she’s trying to get back into a routine to gain stability.

“Jenny Elvers has relapsed.” A headline that the 51-year-old never really wanted to read about herself again. But now it has happened. As the “Bild” newspaper first reported, Elvers was checked by the police at around 7:15 p.m. on October 31, 2023 at a town entrance near Wittstock/Dosse (Brandenburg) after she had parked conspicuously. The officers noticed that she was drinking alcohol, found a breath alcohol level of 1.7 per mille and then had Elvers’ blood taken by a doctor at the station.

The result: Jenny Elvers was reported for drunk driving, as a police spokeswoman confirmed to “Bild”. Elvers also had to hand in her driver’s license and car keys on site. Now the actress is speaking out again about the incident.

After the incident, Jenny Elvers spoke in detail to “Bild” about her relapse, but she initially made herself scarce on social media. Now she is back and addressing her followers.

“I wanted to give a sign of life. As you can see, I’m not locked away in any way. I’ll also straighten out a few things when the time comes. […] But above all, I wanted to thank you,” says the 51-year-old in her Instagram story and adds: “I have so many very, very delightful, magical messages: thank you from the bottom of my heart. “Incredibly many friends in the industry”

A day later, Jenny is full of energy in her Instagram story: She wants to fight the demons that have resurfaced, move more again, get back to her routine: “I have to get back into my rhythm with sports and the like. That’s quite, very important for me.” She has now found countless messages in her social media inbox that she wants to answer over the weekend. A lot of encouraging words seem to have poured in, especially from her fellow actors. “I have an incredible number of friends in the industry,” she states in astonishment and explains: “That makes me happy.” But companions from old times also got in touch. She doesn’t seem to be lacking in benevolent support – and support is what she needs most now.

“I’ve been suffering from depression for over ten years, which is why I started drinking and drugging myself with alcohol. I’m actually well-adjusted to medication. On the way, when I realized I couldn’t drive safely, I got off the motorway. I wanted to get some sleep until I felt better. ” Then she parked in a “stupid place” where she was finally found by the police.

The alcohol is now out of her system, but the feelings of guilt remain. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t want to get anyone involved, I didn’t want to hurt anyone. And I’ll fix it.
