Jeremy Banster: “Huster and I are Nadal and Djokovic!”

At the heart of the sets of the Count of Monte-Cristo, the actor embodies in Meurtres sur les îles du Frioul, Saturday March 12 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3, a fiery policeman confronted with his father, legend the police played by Francis Huster. A duo that has given rise to desires…

How would you describe your meeting with Francis Huster ?

Jeremy Banster: The two of us are Nadal and Djokovic, we are not baseline players! Francis is like a top athlete who has already won everything. Facing him, we necessarily raise our level of play!

Could your duo have a sequel?

With production, we would love to! Not in the idea of taking up our characters, but rather in that of throwing the ball back to us again on a film set. Despite our differences, Francis and I share the same passion for our profession, this die-hard dimension in the exercise of our work.

Are there any other adventures waiting for you in the meantime?

I am going to attack a very beautiful TV movie for France 3, The Duchess Mysterieswhich we are going to shoot in mid-March in Angoulême with in particular Lori Pester, Lyudmila Mikael and Daniele Lebrun. And this summer, I should direct the pilot of a series for Netflix.

You were at the Luchon TV Festival as a juror, but also to present a documentary that you produce, The Cry of the Gulls.

In France, 30% of the carbon impact on the environment is due to the transport of waste, which travels miles to be destroyed! After four years of investigation, the director Gisele Casabianca demonstrates that if we reduced our rubbish, if we sorted plastic, cardboard, glass and bio-waste, we would solve 80% of the problem. As a producer, but especially as a citizen, it was impossible not to relay this awareness. With Cantina Studio, the company we created with Olivier Compère and Fabien Montagner we also work on portraits of artists for the M6 group, such as Celine Dion, Gims Where Patrick Bruel. Besides, it’s often me who does the voiceovers!

your companion, Marie-Gaelle Cals, plays Cécile in Such a big sun. Do you continue to discuss the series, which you left last summer?

Precision, Marie has not been my companion for several months. Everything is going very well, but concerning our private life, I will say no more.
