The Netflix star Jerry Harris (21), known from the documentary series "Cheer" (German title: "Cheerleading"), has been arrested on charges of producing child pornography. This is reported by the "New York Times", among others. Accordingly, he has been in the custody of the authorities in the state of Illinois since Thursday morning. According to the report, he was reportedly brought before a judge in federal court in Chicago on Friday. The public prosecutor is said to have confirmed the relevant charge.
The FBI has been investigating him since May 2019. Harris reportedly admitted to soliciting minors for sexual acts. He was also provisionally arrested once at the beginning of the investigation. Originally, 14-year-old twin brothers got the ball rolling after they contacted the FBI after Harris allegedly asked them several times to send him disreputable videos and pictures via Snapchat.
In a subsequent interrogation, Harris is said to have admitted to having requested pornographic recordings from at least 10 to 15 other minors. He is also said to have confessed to having sex with a 15-year-old boy in 2019. Netflix reacted to the "TMZ" portal. One is "shocked", any abuse of minors is "a terrible crime".
