Jessica Ginkel plays a mother who is about to die in a new series. In a moving interview, Daniel Fehlow’s wife has now revealed that she is afraid of death. She had to make experiences with it in a close circle of friends.

“I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m dying, but not with the fact that I’ll leave you alone,” explains Elli, the role of Jessica Ginkel, 41, in the Sat.1 series “Message from Mom”, which will be broadcast from April 7th February 2022 will be broadcast. In it, the wife of GZSZ star Daniel Fehlow, 46, plays a young mother with cancer who is about to die and wants to leave her family a film she made herself as a farewell gift.

Jessica, herself a mother of two small children, has already had to make experiences with death. She spoke very honestly about this in an interview with the Upper Austrian regional television RTV.

Jessica Ginkel: “A life-threatening illness scares me”

Jessica’s role Elli will soon have to say goodbye to her three children and her husband. So that she can always be “present” in her family’s life, she has recorded hundreds of short videos in which, for example, she gives tips against heartbreak or good night greetings, according to the Sat.1 series description. Jessica “absolutely” wanted to be a part of this adaptation, she tells RTV. She wanted to get the subject, which is still considered taboo, out of the drawer, because “everyone knows someone” who had to do with death – like herself.

“For me it was in a very close circle of friends. I also learned a lot from this person about the fears and worries in such a situation. It wasn’t that long ago,” reveals Ginkel and admits: “Death or a life-threatening one Illness scares me, at least.” Nevertheless, it is important that the topic is addressed. “Like birth, death is part of life,” the actress says.

Daniel Fehlow’s wife wants to be “remembered as a happy person”

Daniel Fehlow’s wife can empathize very well with her role and what she does. A few tears were shed on the set. If Jessica were to suffer such a tragic fate as her character, she could imagine leaving her two young children with similar videos.

She feels that “that way they’re still a little part of them […] could. To give the children what I wish for them… Especially at important stages of life such as starting school, graduation, certain birthdays” – that is important to Ginkel. The mother of two wants to be remembered as “a happy person who also has thoughtful moments has”.

She would then like to see herself laughing or dancing in a photo. Luckily Jessica Ginkel, who has been married to Fehlow for several years, doesn’t have to worry about it – and hopefully never has to.
