Ex-ice hockey professional Jimmy Hayes has died. He was only 31 years old.

Former US national ice hockey player James Ryan “Jimmy” Hayes (1989-2021) has passed away. He was only 31 years old. His former employer, the NHL club Boston Bruins, announced the death of the former striker on twitter known.

The post says: “[…] During this difficult time, our thoughts are with his wife Kristen, his sons Beau and Mac and the whole family. “The exact circumstances of his death are so far unclear. Various US media, including the Boston Globe, the “New York Post” and People magazine report that Hayes’ body was found in his apartment. It is also said that the death of the former NHL professional had been classified as “unsuspicious” by the police.

Ice hockey professional until 2018

Jimmy Hayes made over 300 appearances in the US professional NHL league for clubs such as the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks before ending his active career in 2018. His brother Kevin (29) is under contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.
