US actress Joan Copeland (1922-2022) is dead. She died early Tuesday morning in her sleep in her Manhattan home on Central Park West, like her son Eric the “Hollywood Reporter” announced. The sister of the legendary writer and Pulitzer Prize winner Arthur Miller (1915-2005) and former sister-in-law (1956-1961) of Hollywood superstar Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962) turned 99 years old. On June 1st, which was also Monroe’s birthday, she would have celebrated her 100th birthday.

Joan Copeland played “Detective Story” on Broadway in Sidney Kingsley’s (1906-1995) and represented Katharine Hepburn (1907-2003) in the role of Coco Chanel in the musical “Coco”, which was performed more than 320 times from 1969 to 1970 .
