He considered him to be their son: the Fouillot parents mentioned Jonathann Daval on the microphone of the podcast “L’Heure du Crime”, on RTL. Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Fouillot, Alexia’s parents, wife Daval, have released a book that evokes their daughter, Alexia, our daughter, published by Robert Laffont. Parents tell how amazing they were when they saw the true face of their stepson. Before Alexia’s assassination, apparently, everything was going well: “I had never perceived any discomfort” in their relationship, says Isabelle Fouillot. After Alexia’s disappearance, Fouillot’s parents welcome Jonathann frequently, worrying about him. His mother-in-law describes him as “a little thing in tears”. On Christmas Day, they even fear that he committed suicide, because he does not answer the phone. However, in retrospect and over the course of the investigation, they discover another face. The investigators thus reveal that on the eve of the white march, he left in a Porsche for Dijon to go to the cinema. He left shortly after to do a marathon in the Jura… Far from the image of the tearful man omnipresent in the media.
“The unimaginable brought to light” in the Daval case
On RTL, Jean-Pierre Fouillot evokes the moment when he discovers the truth about the murderer of his daughter Alexia: “it is the unimaginable that is updated”. On the psychological level, the expertises describe a man emotionally immature and psychologically dangerous, with a childish mentality, and the sexual maturity of a person who has not passed puberty. When he finally confesses the murder to his mother-in-law, he kneels down in tears and begs her not to say that he is the murderer. Still, he doesn’t flinch when images of Alexia’s charred body are projected by investigators. The latter evoke a post mortem sexual relationship. Phone taps reveal a chameleon who speaks in a sweet voice to his mother-in-law, then then calls someone from his family to say that his mother-in-law is annoying him greatly. Alexia’s parents wrote the book so that they could continue to talk about their daughter, in order to keep her alive despite everything.
