Two films will be broadcast on the first anniversary of his death

Joseph Vilsmaier passed away in February 2020. BR Fernsehen is now showing two of his films on the first anniversary of the German director's death.

Joseph Vilsmaier (1939-2020) died on February 11 of last year in Munich at the age of 81. BR television will soon be showing two of his films on the occasion of the first anniversary of his death.

Vilsmaier's directorial debut "Herbstmilch" (1989) is to be broadcast on February 20th at 8:15 pm. His wife Dana Vávrová (1967-2009), who married Vilsmaier in 1986 and who died before the director, took on one of the leading roles in it. The film is based on the bestseller "Autumn Milk: Memories of a Farmer's Wife" by Anna Wimschneider (1919-1993).

"Comedian Harmonists" will be broadcast at 10:15 pm. The 1997 feature film was a great success with the public and was able to win the "German Film Prize" (as well as "Herbstmilch") and the "Bavarian Film Prize", among others. Ben Becker (56), Heino Ferch (57), Ulrich Noethen (61), Heinrich Schafmeister (63), Max Tidof (60) and Kai Wiesinger (54) can be seen as the famous singing group.
