Julian Alaphilippe: immense fear for the companion of Marion Rousse

Cyclist Julian Alaphilippe suffered an impressive fall on Saturday March 5, 2022, while competing in the Strade Bianche in Italy.

More fear than harm for Julian Alaphilippe. While participating in the 16th edition of the Strade Bianche on Saturday March 5, 2022, the French world champion was the victim of a impressive fall on Italian roads. He was then evolving at the forefront within the peloton when a big gust destabilized the runners.

Dozens of cyclists fell, one of them just ahead of Julian Alaphilippe. On the videos broadcast after the incident, we can see the many falls including that of the French runner from Quick-Step. The images are spectacular since it is a sun and fall strongly above his bike as shown for example Eurosport on Twitter. And if certain runners like Tiesi Benoot have been forced to give up following the fall, Julian Alaphilippe had more luck. Indeed, the husband of Marion Rousse quickly got up to rejoin the peloton.

Julian Alaphilippe reacted after his violent fall.

The sportsman and father of Nino was at 100 km from the finish at the time of his fall. According to The Gruppettohe spoke about this incident after the race: “My back hurts. I could not avoid the fall, swept by the wind and there is a runner who fell in front of me. We couldn’t do much more compared to the Pagacar, we are happy with the podiumSlovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) finished in first place on the podium, 37 seconds ahead of Alejandro Valverde (Movistar).

For his part, Julian Alaphilippe has made a nice scare, fortunately not serious. It has also happened to him to fall in the middle of the race, as during the Tour of Flanders in 2020 or more recently during the first stage of the Grande Boucle, in Landerneau last June.
