Jungle Camp 2021: Confirmed! IBES is moving

It has been rumored for weeks that the next season of "I'm a Star – Get Me Out of Here!" could move to a new location in 2021 due to the corona crisis. Now RTL confirms the assumptions.

The jungle camp is moving. Instead of going to the Australian jungle, the celebrities in the planned 15th season of "I'm a Star – Get Me Out of Here" will travel to cooler climes in 2021: to Wales.

The jungle camp is moving

After the British counterpart "I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!" Relocated to the United Kingdom for its 20th season in November, RTL has now also confirmed the move of the German version. "Australia is currently retiring from production, just as vacation trips to distant countries are difficult or impossible for all of us. But not doing this great show is out of the question for us and our producer partner ITV", explains RTL managing director Jörg Graf.

Sheep instead of snakes

Viewers should be able to look forward to the show again next January – albeit under different circumstances. "We really want to be in January with 'I'm a star – get me out of here!' be on-air again and are convinced that we can implement this very well in the current situation in Wales, "said Graf.

Behind the scenes they are already working with great pleasure on a very special edition of the show. "When I see who is going to take part and imagine the jungle tests in Wales, I would like to start the show right away," reveals the station's boss.

"Jungle tests" in old castle ruins

Where exactly the new season will be shot has not yet been announced. For the British, it will go to a "rural castle ruin", according to the ITV station. According to a report by "The Sun" it is said to be the 200 year old castle "Gwrych Castle" near Abergele in Wales.

The broadcast concept is to remain the same despite the move to Wales, only some components are to be adapted to the new production location. And something else remains unchanged: Also in the 15th season, Sonja Zietlow, 52, and Daniel Hartwich, 42, lead through the live broadcasts of the jungle camp as usual.
