Sonja Zietlow has been guiding people through the jungle camp for 20 years and has been married for just as long. A circumstance that she did not foresee.
Good luck on the game show, bad luck in love? This slightly modified saying definitely does not apply to presenter Sonja Zietlow (55). It has been one of the constants on the German TV landscape for decades. Next year, the successful RTL format “I’m a star – get me out of here!”, which Zietlow has moderated since 2004, will celebrate its 20th anniversary. She has even been happily married to jungle camp gag writer Oliver Haas (56) for a while now. A fact that Zietlow apparently didn’t expect at the beginning of the marriage, as she revealed in an interview with the magazine “Gala”.
When asked whether she would have predicted a rosier future for her marriage or the trash TV show 20 years ago, the presenter replied: “I would have preferred the jungle.” As a reason for this surprising assessment, she added that she had simply “never been with a man for so long” before. Meanwhile, she can no longer imagine growing old with another person at her side: “I’ve already said to him: Even if you leave me – I wouldn’t take anyone else. That would be far too stressful for me. “
Separate hobbies as a secret recipe
The fact that things have been going smoothly between her and Haas for so long now has to do with a very simple trick – separate hobbies: “Each of us has the freedom to live our lives. He goes on his racing bike tours, I have my riding tournaments. ” However, there is no rule without an exception: they both have a passion for golf.
In addition, the long journey through life together meant that you no longer had to hide your quirks from each other. As a result, her husband has to live with her “hyperactivity and that I maybe talk a little too much from time to time.” However, Zietlow doesn’t mention what annoying peculiarities her husband is allowed to indulge in.
Your preferred candidate for the new jungle camp season
In complete contrast to their wishes for the upcoming jungle camp season, which will be broadcast at the beginning of next year. For example, Zietlow would really like to see TV chef Steffen Henssler (50) on the culinary back burner in the Australian jungle. She also knows exactly what she no longer wants to see: “I could do without some influencers or reality stars.”
