After deleting all the posts from his Instagram account last November, Kanye West has just returned to the social network to announce a new project.
The artist has published an extract from the contract, signed on December 29, which suggests a future collaboration of his brand Yeezy with Balenciaga and Gap. According to Vogue magazine, which spoke with Kim Kardashian’s ex, the project would even be officially called Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga, and will therefore bring together Kanye West and the artistic director of the house of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia, around a project for Gap. “It is a vision that has come true to work with Gap and Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga, to make an incredible product, available to everyone at all times,” Ye told our colleagues.

Also according to the American magazine, the first part of the “Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga” collection is expected in June, followed by a second delivery later in the year. A project approached by the stylist of the Balenciaga fashion house as “a very different challenge”. “I have always appreciated the utilitarianism and accessibility of Gap. I share some of the same sensibilities in my creative language. This project allowed me to join forces [avec Ye] to create a utilitarian fashion for all ”, explained the latter, who said himself in tune with the interpreter of“ Donda ”, not running out of praise for him.
“I know very few people, especially Ye’s caliber, who understand my work so well. It takes me out of my comfort zone and becomes a better designer. There is no ego when we collaborate, just a mutual willingness to evolve and do something big and new, ”he continues.
As for Kanye West, this isn’t the first time he’s teamed up with Gap. In 2020, he signed a 10-year partnership with the brand and the first pieces, down jackets, were logically pulled away. A success story that the rapper intends to continue with this new project.
