In an emotional social media post, Katarina Witt denounced the current corona lockdown and made clear demands on politicians.

The restrictions do not go past celebrities like Katarina Witt, 55, who is now sharing her thoughts on the current situation online.

Katarina Witt speaks openly about her "perplexity, indignation and sometimes anger"

"You know me happy, optimistic and tirelessly full of zest for action. I always want to motivate everyone with laughter. But my weeks of composure slowly alternate with perplexity, indignation and sometimes anger," she writes on her Facebook profile. She wonders, among other things, how all those people who fear for their existence and fight for the existence of their livelihood are doing.

At the same time, she makes it clear: "I am neither a 'corona denier' nor a 'lockdown opponent'! It breaks my heart and I cry when I see all the people with their various needs and concerns on TV or every day in the Read the news about it. She also explains, among other things: "Small and medium-sized companies, retailers, self-employed people, artists, so many industries have got into extreme difficulties since March 2020 and the financial, state aid either does not arrive at all or only in droplets."

In her social media post she also makes demands on politicians – with her most important concern being: "Finally take away people's headaches and financial fears of their existence and implement the promises made months ago without further ado." At the end she writes that she unfortunately doesn't see any light at the end of the tunnel, but "only my bedside lamp".
