Kate Middleton: Before William, she was lovesick about Harry Blakelock

Before Duchess Catherine fell in love with Prince William, Harry Blakelock is said to have done it to her. Instead of a happy ending, however, there was heartache back then.

Kate Middleton and Harry Blakelock met during their school days at Marlborough College. After graduation, Kate, then 18 years old, began a gap year. She spent three months of that in Florence and took a course at the British Institute of Florence. She enjoyed it, writes Daily Mal, "being able to walk around and photograph the city cathedral and countless Renaissance treasures." But Kate had not only art on her mind, but Harry Blakelock as well.

Kate Middleton was madly in love with Harry Blakelock

A friend told Royal biographer Katie Nicholl for her book "Kate – The Future Queen": "When Kate arrived, she was really excited about this Marlborough boy named Harry. She was talking about him the whole time. I think he was her heart a little broken. he seemed to have played 'hot and cold' with her when they were in school and she was always talking about how to get him back, he was the only boy she talked about , and I don't even think it was that serious [between them]. " Kate and Harry did not find each other.

Clear the way for Prince William

Back in England, Kate made another job stop in 2001, this time with the organizers of the BT Global Challenge Yacht race in Southampton. There she met a boy named Ian. A colleague from then on told the Daily Mail: "Everyone called her Fit Kate and the boys were very jealous when she met Ian. It was a summer romance, nothing serious, and it ended when they went their separate ways to get her To start studying. " Kate moved to St. Andrews University in Scotland in September 2001. There she met Prince William.
