I know he never pushed me down the stairs. I had to tell the truth. (…) I believe in the truth and I believe in justice”. Something she had explained in court, confiding: “Johnny left the room before me. There was a thunderstorm and I slipped on the stairs on my way out of the bedroom. I hurt my back. I screamed. He came running back to help me, carried me to my room and brought me medical attention”.
