Kelly Clarkson has spoken about her parenting methods. The first rule: no social media until your 18th birthday.

Kelly Clarkson (41) has clear rules when it comes to raising her children. Your child is not allowed to use any social media until their 18th birthday. says the singer in an interview with “People” magazine. “So I informed them that they would not be allowed to ever have it under my roof,” said the 41-year-old.

Singer masters most of the upbringing alone

She has been divorced from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock (47), who is also the father of her children, since 2022. The separation from Blackstock makes raising daughter River Rose (9) and son Remington Alexander (7) difficult: “It’s hard enough when you’re married and come from two different backgrounds to properly discipline and raise your children.” Doing this in two different households is another challenge, Clarkson continued.

Your daughter has already asked about access to Instagram, TikTok and Co. “‘Well what if daddy lets me.’ Then I say: ‘You’re with him four days a month, enjoy it.'” At the moment, the 47-year-old wouldn’t allow her to use Instagram either. “I’ll listen when they’re older, but until they have a valid argument, it’s no.”

Kelly Clarkson does her best

Clarkson emphasizes that she is not a “helicopter mother,” but the singer places a lot of emphasis on her “schedule”: “There are no perfect parents, I definitely screw it up somehow! But I do my best.”
