Kev Adams, Lola Dubini, Kenji Girac reunited to help children with cancer

On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, on February 15, the Princess Margot Association is organizing a virtual gala, where many personalities will be present. The call for donations is launched.

Every year in France, 3,400 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. While some are fortunate enough to come out victorious in the face of illness, others, unfortunately, are carried away very young. Who is more unfair? The courage shown by these children and adolescents during their long struggle deeply marks their life but also that of those close to them.

Margot was a vibrant young girl whose life changed in 2009, at age 15, when she was told she had a serious brain tumor, glioblastoma. For her and her family, daily life suddenly changes to adapt to the disease, hospitals, doctors, chemotherapy … And three years later, on May 31, 2012, Margot was killed by cancer, at only 18 years old. For her family, it is the pain, the emptiness, but above all the desire to help other families overcome these ordeals.

The Princess Margot association was thus created to support children and adolescents with cancer, as well as their parents.

A call for donations is launched on this occasion to finance an ambitious project: the Marg’Home. Located in the east of Paris, in Saint-Mandé in the department of Val-de-Marne (94), this 300m2 house will accommodate families who are normally far from their hospitalized child, or in a precarious situation. Because, as the association points out in a press release, “Since intensive and specialized care is mainly provided in Paris and in some large metropolitan areas, suitable accommodation is necessary for accompanying families. In 2017, the hematology department of Robert Debré Hospital alone received 46 young patients from overseas departments and territories, from abroad and from metropolitan France outside the Île-de-France region. " All these families, already faced with the unthinkable, are therefore also in great difficulty when it comes to finding accommodation.

Within the Marg'Home, parents will be able to benefit from accommodation, but also from a warm welcome and personalized support. € 400,000 are still needed for the completion of this project. "With € 5 and 80,000 people, we will allow Marg'Home to open its doors and bring care and comfort to families", the association said in its press release. Enough to give some dignity and hope back to the families of sick children.
