Kevin Costner was “handsome, charming, and a movie star”
Christine was just 18 when she first met the actor, who was 19 years her senior. In court documents exclusive to the Daily Mail, she describes this unforgettable moment that took place in 1992. “I met Kevin on the golf course at Alisal Ranch (an exclusive vacation ranch in Solvang, California) when I was 18,” said her statement, filed in Santa Barbara Superior Court. “We played our first game of golf together six years later and started dating not long after.”
It happened quickly to the young model, no wonder, because “Kevin was handsome, charming and a movie star,” says Baumgartner. “We traveled the world in private planes, stayed in luxurious hotels and private homes,” she enthuses. On September 25, 2004, Costner married his partner at his ranch in Aspen, Colorado.
Christine Baumgartner supported the Hollywood star
During her long marriage, the former model not only gave birth to the three children together, according to her own statement, she also supported her loved one with advice and action when it came to careers. “During our marriage, I encouraged Kevin to take on a variety of responsibilities and live his dreams, even if it meant he couldn’t be with our family for a while,” explains the now 49-year-old. “I encouraged him to reconnect with his former band members from college and start a new band. He became a singer and songwriter, touring many countries for several weeks at a time. He became an investor in numerous companies, some of them through my connections. “
Despite all of her husband’s professional obligations, she always made sure that he and the children remained “as connected as possible”. “I never questioned the time or effort he put into doing what he loved.” On May 2, 2023, a Costner representative announced that Baumgartner had filed for divorce.
