Kid Cudi has spoken about his health issues in an interview. In 2016 he had a stroke in a rehab clinic.

Shock diagnosis at Kid Cudi (38): The US rapper said in an interview with the magazine “Esquire” revealed he had a stroke in 2016 while in rehab. Accordingly, he was admitted because of his depression and drug addiction. After two weeks, he was transferred to a hospital because his speech and mobility were impaired. “Everything was broken,” Cudi recalled.

The withdrawal lasted for months. The first milestone followed in 2017 when he auditioned for the Broadway play “Lobby Hero” with Michael Cera (34). For Cudi, that was the breakthrough: “I proved to myself that I can do it. That’s what I needed at the time.” He was happy that his “brain was still strong” and that he hadn’t lost anything.

Mental health now also plays a major role in many of his songs: “I’m ready to wear these shoes and be a role model.” He’s grown up now and has learned to love himself. “And I couldn’t have said that six years ago. Now I can say that with confidence and I really believe in it and it shows.”
