Ex-police officer Derek Chauvin, 45, was found guilty of killing the black man George Floyd. He was handcuffed while still in the dock in the court. He wrote the number of his lawyer on his hand. Then he went straight to Oak Park Heights Detention Center in Minnesota.
The former law enforcement officer is now in solitary confinement, according to the New York Times. Chauvin was reportedly moved to a segregated unit within the prison for his own safety on suicidal charges. This is usually used for punishment.
