King Charles III
Concepts of the “family business” have been significantly restructured
King Charles III has radically restructured his late mother’s concept of the “family business”.
King Charles III (74) has been in office for just over a year and was officially crowned in May. Time for an initial assessment: The monarch has radically restructured the concept of the “family business” of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022).
Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022. Since then, her first-born son Charles has been the new king. His younger son emigrated to California with his family in 2020 – and has been settling scores with the royals in different ways ever since.
Visit to a sawmill
Meanwhile, near Balmoral Castle, the king began his work week. On Tuesday, the 74-year-old visited the James Jones and Sons Limited sawmill in Aboyne, Scotland. The company operates in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The environmentally enthusiast King wanted to learn more about how the recently renovated facility has increased the production of lumber as a renewable, recyclable building product over carbon-intensive alternatives such as steel and concrete.
At the crowning conclusion of the visit, King Charles III unveiled. a memorial plaque and signed a visitor’s book.
