Did King Charles intentionally ignore his younger son? That’s what Prince Harry claimed in his explosive Oprah interview, accusing his father of not taking his calls. An insider now wants to know how this could have happened.

“Before he stopped taking my calls, he told me to write down what my plan was. […] He wanted it in writing and I wrote it all down. […] I’m really disappointed because he went through something similar. He knows what that pain feels like. Of course I will always love him. But a lot has happened and the pain is deep. […] Repairing this relationship remains one of my priorities.”

With these words, Prince Harry, 38, gave his father a stab in the heart in March 2021. Before the eyes of the world, the royal unpacked in the big Oprah interview about his broken relationship with King Charles, 74, and made serious allegations against him. Probably the biggest: Charles “literally cut off financially” him and his family in the first quarter of 2020, Harry had to live on what “my mother left me”.

Queen Elizabeth wanted to mediate between King Charles and Prince Harry

Hard stuff, which is also said to have kept Queen Elizabeth, † 96, busy. As anonymous sources have now revealed to the British newspaper “The Sun”, the Queen is said to have tried repeatedly in her last years to reconcile Charles and Harry – without success.

“The late Queen was always happy to speak to Harry, but when he asked for money she said, ‘Why don’t you speak to your father?’ Harry told her that Charles stopped taking his calls,” a source told The Sun. “Charles insisted that his son email him instead. Members of the family, including William, had stopped speaking to Harry when they found out about his book deal because they were concerned that what they were saying , could end up in the press.”

The anonymous source continued: “Harry isn’t as wealthy as people would like you to believe. He wanted money. When the Queen asked Charles what he was doing about it because she was getting so many calls, he told her, ‘I’m not Bank.'”

Prince Harry + Duchess Meghan

Since retiring as senior royals, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, 41, have been trying to build a new life in the United States and become financially independent. Deals worth millions with Netflix, Spotify and Penguin Random House should help. Financial independence at the expense of Harry’s family.
