Kirk Douglas: Hollywood legend has found peace

The late Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas (1916-2020) was buried in Los Angeles last Friday. As reported by the "People" magazine, among others, his surviving wife Anne Buydens (100) led the funeral procession at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery while sitting in a wheelchair. Her son Michael Douglas (75) and daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones (50) followed.

Cameron Douglas (41), Michael’s son and Kirk’s grandson, did not miss the opportunity to move his grandfather’s coffin to his final resting place with other family members. Among the other guests, who consisted exclusively of family members and closest friends, the star director Steven Spielberg (73) also joined.

Kirk Douglas passed away last Wednesday at the age of 103. His son Michael also announced this on behalf of his brothers "with great sadness" via social media. "For the world he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of film (…) But for me and my brothers Joel and Peter he was just a father, for Catherine a wonderful father-in-law, for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was loving Grandfather and a wonderful husband for his wife Anne, "says the touching post.
