Knot sees the ECB raising rates from the fourth quarter

AMSTERDAM, Feb 6 (Reuters) – Klaas Knot, a member of the European Central Bank’s governing council, said on Sunday he expects the ECB to start raising interest rates in the fourth quarter of this year.

In an interview with the Dutch television channel Buitenhof, the governor of the central bank of the Netherlands, considered one of the staunchest supporters of monetary orthodoxy within the ECB, also came out in favor of a reduction in the fastest possible asset purchases from the Frankfurt Institute.
