(Boursier.com) — In large volumes, Korian collapsed by 18% to 17.3 euros this weekend in an atmosphere still very heavy around the dependency care sector. After the publication of the book “The gravediggers” accusing Orpea of acts of negligence and restrictions on the residents of its establishments, an upcoming special issue of “Cash Investigation” on retirement homes is in preparation.

As revealed by our colleagues from ‘Parisien’, ‘France 2’ has deprogrammed an issue devoted to McDonald’s, scheduled for February 16, so that Elise Lucet’s teams can devote themselves to the one dedicated to the excesses of the Korian and DomusVi groups. “This one will not be ready before the beginning of March. The star presenter, who would like to interview the bosses of these private companies, is waiting for a return from their communication service”, underlines the daily.

Reacting to this information, Sophie Boissard, the managing director of Korian, told ‘Bloomberg’ that her group welcomes a more in-depth examination of the sector after the strong tremors of the last few days: “we are not hiding anything, we have always been transparent”. The manager clarified in particular that Korian was the only operator of retirement homes to have revealed the figures for the mortality rates due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sophie Boissard says she is “completely comfortable” with Korian’s practices, which consist in particular of immediately alerting the authorities as soon as the company becomes aware of an incident.
