Head tilted to one side, eyes friendly but empty: Kristen Stewart seems to be living up to her role as Princess Diana.

Kristen Stewart (30) takes another step to break away from her "Twilight" past. In the cinema production "Spencer" by director Pablo Larrain (44, "Jacky") she becomes Princess Diana (1961-1997). The transformation that the 30-year-old actress puts in for it is almost unbelievable. A first official photo now provides the proof.

Made public the picture was taken by the US production and sales company Neonwhich is also responsible for the release of the films "I, Tonya" and "Parasite". Stewart can be seen in a black bow tie blouse and red jacket. On her head, which she tilts to one side in characteristic Diana fashion, she wears a black hat with a mourning veil. The otherwise cheeky hair of the actress now frames her face in an elegant hair dryer wave.

"Spencer" highlights the turning point in Diana's life

As reported by the US industry portal "Variety", among others, the shooting of "Spencer" has already started. They are to take place in both the UK and Germany. Commenting on her role, Stewart said: "'Spencer' is an immersion in an emotional image of who Diana was at a crucial turning point in her life."

The film is said to focus on a specific weekend in the life of the former wife of Prince Charles (72). On the very same day, it was the Christmas holidays with the royal family at the Sandringham estate, Princess Diana made the decision to separate from her husband and to get a divorce.

The script was written by "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight (62). The other cast includes Timothy Spall (63, "Verwünscht"), Sally Hawkins (44, "The Shape of Water") and Sean Harris (55, "Mission: Impossible"). The theatrical release of "Spencer" is planned for autumn 2021.
