“Krone” presents – Arsonore Festival: The departure to freedom

The opening evening of the “Arsonore” festival on September 8th in Graz Castle Eggenberg offers an exciting arc, new stars and numerous regular artists – a guaranteed unforgettable evening!

The opening evening of every “Arsonore” festival every year traditionally stirs up curiosity about what the valued audience can expect thematically on the following concert evenings.

This time, on September 8th, a lance will be broken at this opening for the most varied and exciting insights into musically groundbreaking, even groundbreaking ideas and an arc from Chopin’s breathtakingly difficult revolutionary etude to the magnificent piano quintet by Juliusz Zarebski, the largely unknown favorite student of Franz Liszt , tense.

With the important violinist and violist Isabelle van Keulen (picture below) and the multiple award-winning very young pianist Maria Eydman, two wonderful musicians will have their premieres at this music festival, but of course numerous popular “Arsonore” regular artists will be there again live.

On the opening evening (“Aufbruch zur Freiheit”), the artistic director Markus Schirmer and young star Philipp Scheucher (picture below) can be seen at the piano – as well as Jevgenijs Cepoveckis, Linus Roth (both violin), Thomas Selditz (viola), Christian Poltera and Danjulo Ishizaka (both cello).

Markus Schirmer is already looking forward to it: “This year too, Arsonore will live up to its already excellent international reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative festivals.” Every evening on 9, 10 and 11 September in Schloss Eggenberg (Planetensaal), numerous national festivals and international artists excite the audience musically and literarily before the grand finale in the Graz Opera takes place on September 12th.
