La Banque Postale, Caisse d’Epargne, LCL… When will your 2023 interest be paid into your savings accounts?

Livret A, LDDS, popular savings booklet or other bank booklets: in all cases, your annual interest is added to your savings in the New Year. But on what day can you see them appear on your banking app or in your customer area online? Just to find out how much the increase in the Livret A rate brought you…

Don’t panic: regardless of the date your annual interest appears on your online statement, the result is the same. In almost all cases the value date of the interest is (depending on the bank) December 31, 2023 or January 1, 2024. In short: your 2023 interest will indeed be capitalized from the New Year. This annual remuneration thus transformed into capital will then itself be taken into account in the calculation of future 2024 interest from the first hours of the new year.

In the meantime… would you still like to know precisely how much the nest egg that you have tried to maintain in your Livret A, your LEP or other housing savings account (CEL) has brought you in 2023? In some banks, the suspense will be lifted even before New Year’s Eve… when you will have to be more patient in other establishments. MoneyVox questioned all the major French networks: here are their answers.

When December 31 falls on a Sunday

As Crdit Agricole points out, this year, December 31 is a Sunday. Consequently, the regional funds of the green bank are getting ahead. Payment of interest on the various booklets, immediately visible on the customer’s account in their personal space Credit Agricole online, will be carried out in stages Friday December 29 from 2 p.m.. Thus, on Friday at 2 p.m., the payment of interest on the various savings accounts will be made in stages. More precisely, the bank specifies that the recorded transaction date will be December 31 and the value date (from which this interest is capitalized) is January 1.

At Crdit Mutuel or CICthe fact that interest is paid on December 31 of the current year is an argument repeated and put forward on the network’s sites, but MoneyVox has not had confirmation from this group that this will indeed be the case. case this year.
