For this series, HBO Max dipped into its talent pool by putting Johan Renck in the direction of the first two episodes. Despite a certain success, obviously too modest, with the public, the series How to Raise a Superhero will thus stop at its season 2, released last February, just like SpaceForce, the space series by Steve Carell and Greg Daniels, also abandoned. Some projects are even nipped in the bud before they even see the light of day. This is the case of Pearlan animated series created by Meghan Markle as part of an agreement signed between Netflix and the former princely couple.
However, Netflix is not the only one to put some of its programs on hold. Following the acquisition of Warner by Discovery, and promises of savings made by new CEO David Zaslav, some daughter companies of the acquired company have been forced to put projects on indefinite pause, according to variety. This is the case of TNT and TBS, which no longer develop new scripts. It is not yet clear what will happen to the series currently airing, such as Animal Kingdom, Snowpiercer Where american dadbut it looks like the ordered seasons will see the light of day.

Let’s stay in the buyout department with Amazon, which recently got its hands on the MGM studio and its prestigious catalog. As spotted variety, the e-commerce giant admitted to having spent much more than the value of the latter – which contains big names like James Bond or Rocky Balboa. He valued the studio’s assets at $3.4 billion worth of video content, for a sale that closed at $8.5 billion. According to him, the acquisition price would include 4.9 billion goodwillie the established reputation of MGM, considered as a quantifiable asset.
