Her pompous robe at Biden’s inauguration is bulletproof
Lady Gaga reveals a secret of the dress she wore when US President Joe Biden was inaugurated: it is bulletproof.
Singer and actress Lady Gaga (35) has revealed the secret of her outfit, which she wore during her performance on the day of the inauguration of US President Joe Biden (78) in January. The pompous robe in which she sang the national anthem was “bulletproof”. She betrayed that now in an interview with the British “Vogue”whose cover she currently adorns.
“This is one of my favorite outfits that I have ever wore,” she said of the Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress. “What nobody knows, however, is that this is a bulletproof dress,” added the artist.
Perfect dress for “greatest honor of my life”
The outfit has a special meaning for the twelve-time Grammy winner, continued Lady Gaga. The ensemble, consisting of a navy blue jacket adorned with a large golden dove of peace as a brooch, and a wide red silk skirt, was specially made for her by Daniel Roseberry, creative director of Schiaparelli. When she saw the pigeon, the singer immediately knew that it was the right look for the occasion.
As she further revealed, it meant a lot to her to wear a dress by an Italian designer. “It was something that I really, really wanted to do for my origins as an Italian-American woman who would sing for the farewell to the 45th President and as an invitation to the 46th President,” the singer recalled in an interview.
Singing the national anthem at Joe Biden’s inauguration was the name of Lady Gaga in February in conversation with “People” magazine as “the greatest honor of my life”.
