And not without reason: the dress of the 1.73-meter-tall British woman enchants above all with its opulence: a large hoop skirt creates a classic A-line, coarse lace envelops the dress and makes it appear filigree and elegant. Arms, shoulders and neck are also covered with lace; In painstaking manual work, button plackets were sewn onto the point on the back as well as on the skirt and top. A tribute to her late aunt Lady Diana?
One detail of her dress could be understood as an homage to her deceased aunt Lady Diana: Similar to Diana’s wedding dress, which she presented to the public on July 29, 1981, Kitty’s dress – in addition to a meter-long veil – also impresses with its eye-catching puffed sleeves.
A trend that Lady Diana started back then and is now being picked up again by her niece. Yet it seems as if Kitty pays tribute not only to her late aunt with her dress, but also with the timing of their wedding. Lady Kitty Spencer and her fiancé Michael Lewis say yes almost to the day exactly 40 years after the wedding of Lady Diana and Prince Charles.
