“Lateral thinkers” compare themselves to victims of dictatorships

D.he protests have changed: instead of large-scale demonstrations in the metropolises, the “lateral thinkers” and anti-vaccination campaigners are now relying on spontaneous, often unannounced protest marches that are spread across the country. They call their marches “walks”. That sounds harmless and harmless, but still rushed and confused ideas are shared there. And again there are many right-wing extremists, for example in Wetzlar, where representatives of the Hessian NPD and supporters of the radical small party III. Mingled away with the protesters. The list of places where “strollers” gather is getting longer from week to week. The protests are moving more and more to the provinces.

The fact that the “strollers” usually march on a Monday is no coincidence, but rather a deliberate choice. You are placing yourself in the tradition of the GDR opposition. And like back then, in autumn 1989, you can hear the slogan “We are the people” again during their marches. You mean to say: We too suffer, like the people of the GDR in the past, from an injustice state. They claim: We too live in a dictatorship, in the “Corona dictatorship”.

There is arguments in parliaments

This claim is as false as it is presumptuous. It fails to recognize that the rule of law is anything but in danger, despite all the lack of freedom required to combat pandemics. It fails to recognize that the measures that are being used to combat the virus can and will be loudly disputed in parliaments, in the media and in families. An example: Within the traffic light coalition there are numerous opponents of compulsory vaccination, especially among the liberals, the issue is also very controversial in the government. That would be unthinkable in a totalitarian regime.

The penchant for “lateral thinkers” for crooked historical comparisons is disturbing. Sometimes they equate themselves with persecuted Jews, sometimes they compare their marches with the resistance of the White Rose. In doing so, they also mock people who actually suffer from an injustice regime and defend themselves against it. The protest of the “lateral thinkers” has absolutely nothing in common with the courage of women in Kabul, for example, who still dare to take to the streets against the Taliban.
