Léa Seydoux now signs a nudity clause with the directors for whom she shoots, and it is partly the shooting of The Life of Adele which brought her to the reflection of the body.
Awarded Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2013, The Life of Adele deeply marked the actresses who formed its essence. The director, Abdellatif Kechiche, had a clear idea of what he wanted, and didn’t hesitate to tell his actresses. In an interview with Figaro, Léa Seydoux returned to this shoot and its consequences in her life as an actress. “The film was super hard to turn ”, she confides daily, before adding: “The cinema has become aware of certain things. Now I sign nudity clauses in my contracts on Anglo-Saxon films. This is the case for Crimes of The Future by David Cronenberg, which I just shot. I have a right of inspection. ”
A right of inspection following the working conditions that she has long deplored, following the filming of The Life of Adele, but that she also sometimes tempered, putting them in context. “I also had great moments of pleasure, adds the actress to the poster of Deceptions, by Arnaud Desplechin.

And to add: “It’s very ambivalent, not just horrible. I still think Kechiche has a lot of talent. But I wonder if it would be possible to make the film today under the same conditions. The crew, the production, have witnessed this. They wouldn’t accept it anymore. ”
Thus, following the Palme d’Or, the young mother explained: “We had suffered so much for this film, the common palm referred to something symbolically strong. We must believe that the jury understood the exceptional nature of the process, a film where it would be impossible to separate the filmmaker from his actors“.
In Desplechin’s feature film, Léa Seydoux is also involved physically, but taking this limit into account. She who plays the English lover apprehends him differently. “My voice and my body are engaged, she observes to the Figaro. But it’s more interesting to know how my character resonates with each other. I don’t make films to get to know myself ”.
