Leclerc recalls peas that may contain foreign bodies

This time, the recall concerns very fine frozen sweet peas (600 g) of the Bio Village brand, marketed across the country in E.Leclerc supermarkets. They are therefore the subject of a recall for “risk of the presence of a foreign plant body”, specifies Recall Conso. This is nightshade, a herbaceous plant that naturally contains high levels of alkaloids (solanine). These substances are known to be toxic. Ingesting five to ten berries can cause nausea, for example.

Several lots are affected by this food recall. Lot 261250C with a time stamp between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. as well as lot 261251B with a time stamp between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. with a minimum durability date of September 30, 2023. Note that the product has been marketed from October 6 to December 31, 2021.

“Due to the risk of injury or adverse effects”, the site alerts on dangerous products also advises not to consume these products considered harmful. It also offers consumers the opportunity to return the products in question to the points of sale.
