How the pricing table works

Regularly, Leica revisits some of its products by covering them with an original material or by providing them with slightly different finishes according to the commercial operations of the moment. We think in particular of the compact Q2 “007 edition” with its personalized case in connection with the film Dying can wait in the fall of 2021. Often available in very limited quantities, these models are also an opportunity to significantly increase the price of an already quite luxurious product. For the Q2, the price rose from 5000 to 7250 €.

A titanium film camera

The Teutonic firm returns to us this time with an even more eccentric product: a titanium MA, just that! For information, the Leica MA is not a digital camera, but a silver one. A model totally devoid of electronics launched in 2014, for those who would find it almost rude to use a digital Leica.

To accompany this “new” body, Leica provides an optic, the APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH, in a nice box, also in titanium. Leica highlights the great durability of titanium as its first selling point, and recalls that it has regularly launched titanium cases since 2001, with the M6: we are therefore at the 6th generation of reinforced devices.

Price and availability

Those who would be seduced by this titanium Leica MA will have to be quick and have a well-stocked wallet. Indeed, the lot will be sold from June 9, 2022 in only 250 copies worldwide (as is often the case) for the trifle of €19,990. For comparison, in normal times the classic Leica MA set with the 50mm f/2 lens would cost you “only” €12,455.
