Lenny Kravitz: He doesn't need a lot for his daily beauty routine

Rock star Lenny Kravitz uses sand from his Bahamas island, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and water for her daily beauty routine.

Yes, rock stars take care of their bodies too. US musician Lenny Kravitz (56, "Fly Away") revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine what his daily beauty routine looks like. "I only use a few things. I wash my face with water, to be honest. When I'm here, I scrub it with the ocean sand because it's very fine and powdery," he says. With "here" is meant his island Eleuthera in the Bahamas, on which he spent much of this year.

But that's not all. "I use coconut oil for my body, shea butter, cocoa butter, all organic," he explains. With an almond soap he wash his body, his hair and even his clothes. "It's a really simple island routine, but I take it with me everywhere," said Kravitz.

In his daughter's footsteps

The rock star is the new face of Yves Saint Laurent's fragrance "Y". He is following in the footsteps of his daughter, actress Zoë Kravitz (31, "Big Little Lies"), who has been a long-time ambassador for the luxury brand.

"There is no one who has more style than Zoë – she is so natural and uncomplicated and simply exudes style and coolness without being obtrusive. She is just the way she is. She has a lot more class than me," enthuses the proud Papa Lenny and adds that the two of them would even occasionally borrow clothes and accessories.

Zoë Kravitz comes from his marriage (1987-1993) to actress Lisa Bonet (52, "The Bill Cosby Show").
