Former Bay City Rollers singer Les McKeown has died at the age of 65. His family communicated this.

The Scottish singer Les McKeown (1955-2021) is dead. As his family reports, McKeown died suddenly on April 20th at his home at the age of 65. His wife Keiko and his son Jubei wrote on the Twitter account of the singer: “In deep sorrow we must announce the death of our beloved husband and father Leslie Richard McKeown.”

Les McKeown was the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers until the late 1970s. The British band’s hits included “Bye Bye Baby” and “Shang-a-Lang”. In 2015 McKeown went on a reunion tour with the group. According to the Daily Mail, the tickets were sold out within minutes.

At the beginning of September 2020 it became known that Ian Mitchell had also died at the age of 62. The death of the former guitarist of the Bay City Rollers had been announced on the band’s Facebook account.
